CHURCH GROUPS
Session:
The Session is the governing body of our church and is one of three ordained offices in the church. The current session is made up of 6 members of the congregation, divided into three equal classes, each serving a term of 3 years. Among the responsibilities of the Session are:
Provide for the worship of the congregation except for those aspects assigned specifically to the pastor
Strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation
Maintain accurate rolls of the congregation including approval of new members
Establish and maintain the annual budget for the church
Serve as Liturgist during worship
Deacons:
The Board of Deacons is one of thee ordained offices in the church. Deacons are elected by the congregation and ordained by prayer and laying on of hands. In our church the Board is composed of six Deacons divided into three equal classes, one of which retires each year.
The Board of Deacons is charged with ministering to members of the congregation and to people in the area and promote national and international mission. As part of this ministry the Deacons:
Maintain a list of members who are wiling to help other members in need with:
Delivery of meals
Rides to/from appointments
Shopping
Respite CareMaintain the prayer list. If you would like to add or delete anyone from the Prayer List please contact one of the Deacons or click here. Prior to adding anyone to the Prayer List, please obtain their permission.
The Deacons also are charged with the preparation of the elements for Communion and assist in the serving of the elements.
Cemetery Committee:
The cemetery committee is charged with the perpetual care and improvement of the cemetery. The committee consists of six members divided into three equal classes elected by the congregation.
Buildings and Grounds:
The Buildings and Grounds committee is charged with the maintenance, security, and improvement of the church.
Our church calendar reveals extensive use of the church facilities throughout the week. Since the opening of Memorial Hall several men of the church have been volunteering their time to conduct a daily security inspection of the buildings and grounds. These inspections began in October 2003. The normal assignment runs from Sunday through Saturday. Additional help is always welcome. If you would like to volunteer to help out, please contact a member of the Buildings and Grounds committee through the church office.
Nursery:
Our nursery is available during the 9:30 worship service for all children ages birth through five. If you would like to make use of the nursery please ask the Greeter or Usher upon arrival for the service.
Women's Circle:
The Women's Circle meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. The meeting begins with a lunchtime of fellowship and desserts and beverages that are provided by two hostesses from Circle. Following lunch is Bible Study that is led by a different Circle member each month. Bible Study is followed by a business meeting.
The Circle belongs to Presbyterian Women in New Castle Presbytery (PWNCP). Elected for two year terms of service are Officers, Moderator, Vice Moderator, Secretary, and Treasurer. Elections are held in December.

The road to success in not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family.
